Describe your role with in one sentence: I’m a Paralegal; I handle compensation claims for noise induced hearing loss.
Why did you want to work in law?
I find it an interesting and varied job whereby I get to work with a wide variety of people.
What is the best thing about your job?
I really enjoy getting to know our client’s through the course of their claim and of course working to achieve the best possible result for them. The best days are of course when we’re able to call our clients with details of their settlement.
What is the most difficult thing you’ve had to deal with?
When any of our clients pass away, it’s often a sad and difficult time in the office.
Sometimes people think…. that I talk too much (and they’re probably right!)
What makes you happy?
Following Everton FC, learning about the Ancient World (with particular interest in both the Roman Republic and Empire) and politics.
I do what I do because…. it’s all I’ve ever wanted to do… and I find it a very rewarding experience.
If you could change one thing about your job what would it be?
Oh, better tea bags for sure!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
Hopefully progressing and becoming more experienced in the Industrial Disease Department.
